PROFILE FOR MS LEAH MORITI MABUZA, THE MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL RESPONSIBLE FOR: CULTURE, SPORT AND RECREATION MEC,

Leah Moriti Mabuza was born in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga Province. She held various positions in different spheres of Government and currently she serves as the Members of the Executive Council Responsible for Culture, Sports and Recreation. With a long history of political activism, and the community builder of note, Mabuza holds a BA Degree in Public Management from the University of Johannesburg, and she is currently pursuing her Post currently Qualifications (honours Degree) in Public Affairs with Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).

Her passion for education was further strengthened during her tenure as the Political Adviser to the MEC for Health and Public Works Roads and Transport in Mpumalanga Province. MEC Leah Mabuza possesses several outstanding personal attributes, including being self-propelled, having excellent interpersonal relations skills, and being highly motivational. She is also computer literate and has extensive knowledge of public service laws, stakeholder management, information management, performance management, in debt knowledge of various disciplines such as thought Leadership in management and administration processes, anchored on Good Governance and Accountabilit.

As the Member of the Executive Council, MEC Leah Mabuza is committed to advance priorities of the Seventh Administration, with a Clear mandate to promote and drive social cohesion, contribute to economic growth and job creation through sports and creative industry value chain to mitigate the triple challenges of poverty, unemployment and socio-economic inequalities. Finally, community building and self help initiatives are very close to her heart serving as a motivational patron.
