Women's Day Celebration goes to Boschfontein
As a buildup event to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government Women's Month celebration on August 17, Premier Refilwe Mthsweni-Tsipane will handover food parcels to the community of Boschfontein on Friday, August 16.
The Women's Month celebration will take place at Boschfontein Community Hall on Saturday, August 17. Before that, the Mpumalanga Provincial Government will be in Nkomazi to engage with the community and also handover donations to the community. The aim of the donations is to fight poverty, especially among women.
Women's Month celebrates the role women played in the fight against oppressive laws of the past. It is also used to highlight the gains made by the democratic government in empowering women in all spheres of life. This year's Women Month is celebrated under the theme: "25 Years of Democracy: Growing South Africa Together for Women's Emancipation."
Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane will deliver the keynote address on the day.
