Ladies and Gentlemen
1. The Mpumalanga Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation has a mandate to promote Nation Building and Social Cohesion through sport.
2. We are proud to host two big teams, Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City in the Mbombela Stadium in a friendly game. We are excited that our two provincial teams, Spear of the Nation and Mbombela United will be part of the tournament. We urge supporters to come in large numbers to watch this spectacular tournament.
3. We are hosting the tournament to prepare for one of the biggest signature event in the province, the Mpumalanga Cultural Experience, which gives a platform to all cultural groupings in the province to celebrate their diverse culture, traditions and heritage. This event will be held on the 1st and 2nd of December this year.
4. The Culture Experience will feature the Comedy Night, Traditional Experience which we will organize together with Mpumalanga House of Traditional Leaders, Children Experience, The Main Festival and a Soul Session.
5. We will be announcing big names for the Cultural Experience in due course and we are saying watch the space.
6. Let me take this opportunity and thank all sponsors for their contributions which will help us to host this tournament successfully and to also thank the media which will help us to market and to mobilize the people to attend the tournament in great numbers.
7. We are looking forward to hosting you in Mpumalanga the place of the rising sun and we encourage you to explore our heritage sites like God’s Window, Kruger National Park, Three Rondavels, Sudwala Caves and the Samora Machel Monument just to mention a few and above all experience our nightlife in the City of Mbombela.
