Subject: Mpumalanga celebrates 23 years of Freedom in Mmametlhake

MBOMBELA – Mpumalanga will mark Freedom Day in Mmametlhake in Dr JS Moroka Municipality on Thursday, starting at 9:00.
According to the spokesperson of the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation, Sibongile Nkosi the provincial celebration will be held at Tabane Primary School Sport Ground. “This year the country will be celebrating 23 years of Freedom and Democracy and the provincial government is taking the event to the people of Mmametlhake,” says Nkosi.
The celebration will start with a carnival street parade featuring different cultural groups and King Steve Productions, Tshepo Phaswana, will provide entertainment.
Premier DD Mabuza and other members of the executive, including MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation, Norah Mahlangu will grace the event.
This year’s theme is: “The Year of OR Tambo: Together Deepening Democracy and Building Safer and Crime-Free Communities.”
