YOUTH DAY COMMEMORATION AND YOUTH MONTH ACTIVITES
The Mpumalanga Provincial Government cordially invites members of the media to attend and cover the 2025 Youth Moth Activities which will be held under the theme: “Skills for the changing world, empowering youth for meaningful participation” The first event is the Youth Day Commemoration. This event will celebrate the achievement of the youth and highlight the impact and importance of skills development as a tool for empowerment among the youth. The event is scheduled to take place as follows:
• Date: Monday, 16 June 2025
• Time: Gates open at 09h00
• Venue: eMangweni Stadium, eMangweni, Nkomazi Local Municipality The Acting Premier of Mpumalanga, Mr Speed Mashilo will deliver the keynote address. As part of Youth Month activities the Province will hold two events which are planned as follows:
1. Gert Sibande Youth Month Build-up Activity – Film Screening
Date: Friday, 13 June 2025
Venue: Dipaliseng Multi-Purpose Centre,
Balfour, Dipaliseng Local Municipality, Gert Sibande District
Time: 08H00
This activity will reflect on the resilience of South African youth through the power of storytelling in film, while inspiring critical conversations on social and economic change.
2. Nkangala Youth Month Activity – Creative Arts & Sports Masterclass
Date: Friday, 20 June 2025
Venue: Emalahleni Local Municipality Banquet Hall, Emalahleni (Witbank), Nkangala District
Time: 09H00
This masterclass will bring together experts, creatives, and athletes to share practical insights and mentorship with young people interested in building careers in the arts, sports and recreation sectors.
