Handing over of Dr Esther Mahlangu Art Studio

The MEC for Culture Sport and Recreation Ms Leah Mabuza delivered a Keynote address on the occasion of the handing over of Dr Esther Mahlangu Art Studio which was donated by Thungela, a mining company with operations in the Nkangala District. In her speech, she thanked Dr Esther Mahlangu for her contribution in promoting the Ndebele Culture through art and putting South Africa in the spotlight. She also imploded young people to learn the art of "Ukugwala" and to protect it as it is their heritage. This august event was concluded by a ribbon cutting ceremony where the art studio was officially opened to the public. The Studio is situated in Mthambothini Village in the Dr JS Moroka Municipality.
