DCSR Ready To Host Metro FM Awards

Mbombela- TThe Metro FM Music Awards weekend is finally here, and it’s expected to be a bigger and better event compared to last year. This highly anticipated event has become a highlight on the Mpumalanga social calendar. Taking place on Freedom Day, this year’s event will also commemorate our 30 years of freedom and celebrate the incredible journey of our country’s music over the past three decades. The Department of Culture, Sport, and Recreation is excited to announce that attendees can look forward to a seamless and relevant event. To ensure smooth logistics and minimize traffic congestion around the Mbombela stadium precinct, the department has organized park and ride facilities. Two venues have been secured for this purpose: the Government Complex open field and Hoerskool Bergvlam. “We received a lot of inputs from our stakeholders regarding last year’s event. We listened to all inputs and we have improved in most of our services in order to create a top class experience for all those who will attend the Awards. The park and ride is just one of the few services we had to provide” said Sibongile Nkosi, Spokesperson for the Department. Park and ride services will run from Saturday, starting at 15:00, until 20:00 when the official program begins. After the Awards ceremony, the services will resume immediately from 22:00 until 05:00 the next morning to cater to those attending the Music Festival. Rotating transportation will be available regularly to transport passengers back to the park and ride venues.
