WORLD READ ALOUD DAY

The National Library of South Africa (NLSA) will host this year’s national World Read Aloud Day in Mpumalanga at Phumula Public Library on February 1.

According to NLSA, World Read Aloud Day is aimed at building, promoting and sustaining the culture of reading. It also offers readers, of all ages, the opportunity to celebrate literacy and the pure joy and power of reading aloud.

The activities of the day include a puppet show, storytelling, reading for toddlers, pre-scholars, performances, poetry rendition. Prizes to be won include books.
