PUMAS WIN CURRIE CUP FINAL

MBOMBELA- The MEC for Culture Sport and Recreation Ms Thandi was ecstatic when the Pumas won the Currie Cup Final match against the Griquas in Kimberly this afternoon.
The Pumas won the tightly contested match 19-26 to be the first team to bring the elusive and much coveted trophy to Mpumalanga in recent history.
" I am elated with the win, it's a triumph for Mpumalanga rugby, the people of Mpumalanga and for the brand Pumas, which has been long time coming, we are happy that our team has put us right back in the spotlight of development rugby which we are passionate about, as the people of the province. We are optimistic that the Pumas will be the future production line of the Springboks. As a Department we are happy that this win came at the tails of our Netball team, The Sunbirds' second place win at the Telkom Netball League. This important result, the second place spot happened just last week. We look forward to receiving the Pumas with the trophy and to have it visiting all the corners of our province soon" The MEC said after the win
The Pumas will be returning to the province and all details relating to their arrival will be communicated soon.
