MOGALE NOMINATED FOR BEST ACTOR AWARD IN KENYA

A KaBokweni-based actor, Sibusiso Mogale is up for Best Actor Award at the 6th Lake International Pan African Film Festival (LIPFF), taking place this week in Nairobi, Kenya. Mogale is nominated for his lead role in Xola 2.
Mogale, who made his name in films such as Xola, Imfihlo and Xola 2 on Mzansi Magic, will be vying for the award against Daniel Kojo Delong (Ghana), Ruhabiro Raymond (Uganda), Cojack Chilo (Tanzania) and Melvin Alusa (Kenya).
Upon his nomination, the actor approached the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation to assist him with traveling expenses to be able to attend the award ceremony. His request was acceded to by the Department and all his traveling expenses were covered and paid for by the Department.
The Department’s spokesperson, Sibongile Nkosi had this to say about the send-off, "The Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation is very proud to be associated with a person of Mogale’s calibre. He has managed to break many barriers and he continues to surprise and make us proud as as a country and particularly as the people of Mpumalanga. We wish him all the success in the film festival, may this nomination be a stepping stone to greater successes in the entertainment industry."
Mogale was accompanied by his family who were equally excited to see him off to Kenya. “I feel excited and proud to be nominated for the award and I assure the people of Mpumalanga and film lovers in general that I will represent them with pride and honour at the film festival. Being nominated is an honour, winning it will be a cherry on top,” said the actor who was born without arms but didn’t allow it stop him from following his dreams.
