The Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation will host the 7th Mpumalanga Oral History Conference

MBOMBELA - The Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation will host the 7th Mpumalanga Oral History Conference from 17 to 18 November 2021 at Blue Gum Country Lodge in Bethal, starting at 08:00.
The theme for this year’s conference is: “Charlotte Mmakgomo Maxeke, A Doyenne of Knowledge and Leadership: The Role Of Women In The Struggle Against Colonialism and Apartheid.” The conference will offer stakeholders an opportunity to discuss and reflect on a plethora of topics which include the following:
- Was witchcraft a political tool of diversion or an African Reality?
- Were Traditional Healers included/consulted throughly in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic?
- Exploring The Indigenous Knowledge Of Plant Based Medicines In Raising African Indigenous Familiies
- Agter Os Ook Binne In Die Kraal: Transforming Archives in Gauteng Province Through Oral History
- Baptism Of The Black Soul or Land Before Consciousness
- Grandmothers’ Voices: Exploring The Forgotten Worlds and Languages Of Female South Africans From The mid-20th Century.
