About Honourable MEC Norah Mahlangu (MPL)

Ms Norah Mahlangu was born in 1973 at Winterveld. She started schooling at Sokap Primary School and proceeded to Mafu Secondary where she completed schooling.

Ms Mahlangu started her Political Career when she joined the ANC in 1993 and became an African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) activist in 1996.

In 2002, Mahlangu was elected ANC Women's League Regional Secretary of Nkangala.
She is the current Womens League Regional Chairperson at Nkangala, and a Member of the ANC Provincial Executive Committee (PEC), elected in 2012.

In 2000 she was deployed as a Councillor at Thembisile Hani Local Municipality, and served as a Memberof the Mayoral Committee responsible for LED (from 2006 to 2011).

Norah Mahlangu was appointed as a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) responsible for the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation from 2014 to date.
